TIME TRIAL NEWS - 2014

1st January 2014 - Cardiff 100 Miles RC - 10mile TT

Far from ideal conditions today, cross wind which seemed not to provide help on any section of the course.

Mark Nott 25.53

Andy H + Chris G  2 up 26.31

Fastest time by Gerry McGarr  don't know exact time 24.40 something I think AH

Well done to all, good times on a slow course on a windy day and out of season.

( I'll get the excuses in for you!) SM

No excuses needed not a very nice day for cycling CG

Did anyone enjoy/ learn anything from the experience (other than that it wasn't a nice day for cycling)?

Feeling quite pleased with myself for once, for not being organised enough to get an entry in!   RJ

Well done for riding at all-rather you than me! TB

Well done to Andy and Chris.

Winner-Gerry McGarr-24.23

2nd-Paul Lambert-25.44
3rd-Mark Nott(Me)-25.52

Conditions were less than perfect to say the least almost lost my front wheel on several occasions, a mile in on the coast road due to very strong cross wind, Phew!!!! was close!. Not to mention the cement wagon that almost dragged me under its rear wheels !!!!

Probably the only time I will win a prize, a bar of fruit and nut chocolate.......makes it all worthwhile! MN

Good going for such an awful day there chaps. JT

Hope I haven't missed any more Oggies out?

Well done, great turn out for the club. MN

Some very good times there - especially this early in season. That must be a PB for Rob Jones? Makes me want to get the TT bike out again. AW

It was one of the best days on that course for a while.  The winter chaingangs have certainly helped me be fitter, earlier.

PB for Andy Harries too, I believe..SM

Nope. It was however my most common time over the last 3 seasons...though more typically on the R10/17 course (a40). 21.52 is my pb (2012). I would like to beat it this season but my best times always come in September...usually in the last events of the season! It might have been a course record at least as I don't recall ever having good conditions on that course before. Well done everyone. Great OVW showing today! RJ

R25/3L Realtime TT 06.04.14 - Report by Mark Nott

Weather conditions were awful. Strong headwind and driving rain for approx. 14 miles to the turn, basically.

I had to fight with the bike to keep it on the road !!! Seriously.

Approx. half of the field of 125 were DNS,some riders saying due of the weather conditions ???

The result sheet was very difficult to decipher but I think Keiron Davies maybe the Winner with a 49....?

I achieved a PB of 59.45 only 4 secs but happy with that considering the conditions.

Norman raced but I`m afraid his time was not up by the time I left.

Bynea 30mtt 20.04.14- Report by Norman

For the first club championship of the season, it appeared to be a bright, if cold day with a slight breeze. For me this is a "local course", being only 28 miles to the event HQ, but as I drove over the top of the Black Mountain the thermometer registered just 3.5 c and it was blowing a gale. At the headquarters riders assembled amongst the remnants of last nights wedding party and discussed how long it would take to ride the 4 miles to the start line. I arrived too early and had a short warm-up ride - it was just 6.5 degrees and there was a strong easterley wind. I was no.2 and set off in pursuit of my minute man, gaining nothing until the climb of the LLandeilo by-pass, by which time I was being overtaken by a procession of much fitter competitors.

Although there was a tail wind it didn,t seem to provide much help - but Mark Nott sailed by at about a mile before the turn and was looking good. Once we turned for the 14 mile return leg, it was more difficult. The twisting, undulating nature of the road meant there was no constant wind. The climb of the "Col-De-Llandeilo" bypass was particularly stressful, coming as did with just about 3.5 miles remaing. From LLandeilo roundabout to the finish was a headwind, with both Mark Rosser and Steven Landeg showing their Majorca training had paid off, as they sailed by. The 6 miles back to the HQ seemed to take forever, as my ever diminishing energy level dissipated. I was so grateful that I managed to finish before Andy Harries and Keiron Davies stormed in.

Result:- 1st Keiron Davies   Team NBCC   1.03.53

             Mark Rosser           OVW            1.12.48

             Mark Nott                "                1.14.59 pb

             Andy Harries           "                 1.18.05 pb

             Steven Landeg        "                 1.20.37

             Norman James        "                 1.38.17

            Stephen Madeley      "                 DNSA

So Mark Rosser  retains his club championship with an improvement of 1min 24 secs on last year. Congratulations to him, and well done the rest of the team.

Report by Mark Nott

Didn't have a clue what to expect, lumpy or as Steve Landeg said "Sporting"!!!.I`ll just call it "Orrible" !!!

Hard course to ride but once finished I felt a real sense of achievement.!!!

Mark Rosser took me at the 15 mile point which meant at that point he had taken 2 mins out of me.But I was determined to hold on to him so for the second 15m I held him within 80 metres of me to the finish.

Well done to Mark R,he was so strong and it was a pleasure to see "him in action" !!!. "I observed some of his skills"???

Carl Roach 25m TT - 27.04.14

Just wanted to take a moment to say "A Big Thank You" to all who helped out today, which allowed us riders to represent such a fantastic club !!!

Steven, "Big Ups" to you for coaching and mentoring me, much appreciated !!! "Still got loads to learn, Master"LOL

I over heard several riders saying what a well organised event,so thanks again to Steve Landeg and all the team.!!!!  MN

Yeah poor Steve, felt for you today mate. Anyone brave enough to take on this cursed event deserves the top qualification in event organisation!

SWTRA are off my Xmas list - We really should let them know the situation they put us in today (possibly they were not even aware of the fleeting visit made by the tree fellers). Once the cones were down we could not have been in a more dangerous place for the start in my view. We'd have positioned ourselves well down the layby had we known. Some riders were understandably frustrated at the start but not towards Ogmore. At least they wouldn't of had a good time today anyway, given the conditions. RJ

Great result today - this ranges from good organisation to ride times to Lynne's corn beef pie!

Well done Mr Landeg, you deserve a huge glass of red tonight. JS

Ladies and Gentlemen.

Yesterday, there were a few of you that I didn't say much to, didn't say anything and didn't even see you at all. Obviously the day didn't start too well with 2Km of cones sprouting up out of nowhere and I the inside of my head turning into mush but I think we made the better decision with the information we had at the time to shorten the race. If, and if, we had known that cone removal would have commenced before 10:00, postponing the start could have been the best except for creating a timekeeper's nightmare.

Apart from a few dissapointed competitors who didn't get to race the full distance, the various forum comments, emails and texts I have seen since close of play have been positive and asking me to pass on their thanks for providing them with some sport.

Thanks for contributing to the effort. SL

I heard many positive comments and everyone I spoke to was just happy to ride and understood why the course needed to be shortened. CG

You have received great comments and you we'll deserve them. We all appreciate the time and trouble you have taken and I add my congratulations for a star event. We need heroes in the club ! TR

MID WEEK - 1ST MAY 2014

Wow, what a remarkable turnout for the 1st event of the year. Fantastic to see so many. Shame about the bit of welsh dew just before we started, but at least it stopped by the time the event was underway. Roads were wet leading to some soggy bottoms, and cooler than expected. We had the experience of no less than five clubs turning out. So well done to all.

Thanks to all who helped make our 1st event such a succesful one.

Please can I just caution those who drove to the event to be ever watchful of other road users whilst trying to park up for the event and remember to give clear indication of their intentions. Cheers. Lynne.

Where did all those riders appear from????.....28 was it ?

Great turn out.....23.37 PB for me .Previous season 24.07.

...welll happy  :)

Well done to Kevin Reaney alias "Comedy Kev"

ho also landed  PB by nearly 2 mins !!!!

Also "Big Ups" to Joe Beech.......Flying !!!

Thanks again to all who gave their time to make it happen.MN

Some awesome early season performances and what an entry. SL

Thanks to all involved in the organisation of Thursdays first

midweek. Good for the clubs coffers, but no doubt an additional

stress with so many riders turning up.  ShawnM

Yes as you say a fantastic turnout. It was a bit stressful for

Norman, signing on, taking levi,s and trying to place the field.

He got to push me off with 30 seconds to go. Some extra hands

on deck would be most welcome.  LJ

Thanks to all who made it happen, really appreciate x SH

Welsh Champ Event - 25m TT 04.05.14

Very good conditions today, very little wind and sunny for the later riders, so good time done by all, Well done all Oggies, Mark just bettered Steven by seconds. Too many good times to list so check out the finish list on the Welsh TT site or on the CTC site later today. Terry Icke at a young 70 managed to post a 53 minute for 25, maybe a vets age record. Well done Andy for the excellent breakthrough and Joe for getting second in the overflow. RonB

Blaenau Gwent R25/7 TT - 11.05.14

Dry and bright but windy conditions for this one. No show Norman or Steven, so just me for OVW - slightly faster than usual to the turn with a cross tail wind. Then a real hard slog all the way back with no protection from the roadside hedge, being on other side of the road. The sort of headwind has you experimenting with pedalling technique to try and find an extra watt. I had to work my socks off just to get under the hour in the end. Enjoyed my 1st 25 of the season in a strange kind of way. Felt ok with disc wheel and deep front rim. Just hard!

A 52 was winning when I left, but with Rob Pears and Kieron Davies to come. Be very impressed if either of them went under 51 mins today! RJones

MID WEEK - 8TH MAY 2014

Well what a difference to last week. It,s shown us who the fair weather riders are. lol. Actually we were quite surprised that anyone turned up at all. To say it was blustery is a bit of an understatement and quite, quite cold. Thanks to all who entered and those who helped, just remember help is always gratefully received. Would it be possible to try and ensure that riders bring the correct money please as we struggle to find change. Cheers, Lynne. See you next week.LJ

Tough night last night, Keith and I reasonably happy with the time but sure we can go quicker.

MID WEEK - 15TH MAY 2014

As the song goes:- oh what a night. 27 riders in all including

one tandem and a team of four. It was a good night weather wise,

althought all those who helped were surprised by how cold they

got, waiting for riders to come in. Poor Mary was in a very summery

pair of sandals. I think we forget how cold it can get in that area.

Firstly many thanks to everyone who turned up in time to sign on

before the 6.45 deadline. Also to all those who took notice of my

last message and brought the right money, it was a huge help.

So cheers everyone and same again next week.

All in all, a brilliant night, with so many riders and plenty of help,  T

hanks guys. See you next week. LJ

2 3up teams today. Both happy with ride and time. 36.5 mile course split about 65/35 B road to Dual carriageway. Conditions really good.

Our ride (joe, mark r and I) was smooth from the start, although it was amusing watching Joe trying to turn left...presume he makes a better job of turning right given speed he gets around our midweek club 10. He almost scored extra points for wiping out one of the ystwyth teams that we had a ding dong with on the sharp left turn after the dual section at raglan a while, but they just managed to escape, as did Joe!

We learned a lot from our Thursday night practice (including that Joe is too young and strong to ride a lumpy 10 with). ToDay we did a 1:21:54 which was about middle of the field (26.7mph ave). Not sure what the other team did as time not in when I left? RJones

Well done to both teams for getting around unscathed. Had a few complaints from drivers at the H roundabout, but there was just too much traffic on the old road for the late starters. The early starters had a much easier ride through Hardwick. Some had to stop behind 8 or 10 cars at the bottle neck junction because the cars had been stuck behind cyclists along the old road. One team did weave in and out of cars before the junction with the senior rider screaming at the two others to keep going. Well done to both teams for getting around unscathed. I scribbled down some time as everyone passed, so if I can make sense of them I post them on this site. Well done nice to see some Oggies mixing it. RBoast

Celtic Series 4 of 8 - R10/22a - 10.06.14 (OVW)

Good event tonight with some good times despite challenging conditions.  It stayed dry but windy on the way out.  An excellent and well- organised event.  Thanks to Tim and everyone else who helped out. Seven M

Once again another superb OVW event. Superb marshalling, pushing off, results, teas, cakes and timing (though I seem to be stuck on 27, last four times almost identical). Shawn M

Just wanted to say thank you to Steve and Tim for organising such a great event.

Thanks to all the helpers and marshals who helped allowing us riders who were fortunate to ride to represent such a "Great Club"

A course PB for me so pleased although I would have been happier with a short 23.!!!

Thanks again all !!! Mark N

Thanks for the thanks guys !

Now I have recovered a bit (my supper at 10.00pm was porridge and malt whisky - yum !) I have collected my thoughts.

Steve was superb with the IT (I might have mentioned this before but I need to keep him motivated until the Result Sheet has been completed) and we had two great teams out there. Both the team who made the event and the lads on the road. Well done everyone. What a great club we have ! Tim R

Well done Andrew, massive step forward there...more speed to come too I suspect now you've got some aero gear to incentivise the effort! Great effort all round mind, the "lts" ones are just as impressive. Rob J

Great time Andrew!! Well done!! Richard Bowmer

Very good conditions, course was pretty quiet, very little wind, warming up is difficult with the revised start, I will have to find an alternative. Well done all, good time Bowen. Ron B

Well Done to all.   Some great times.....Andrew that's impressive, great effort.   Richard looking good for the 3/4 up next week!!! Mark N

West Wales 100m TT - 15th June 2014

In addition to the good set of rides in the Merthyr 10 on Saturday, can I draw your attention to some more amazing performances;

WWCL '100'  Rob Jones 4:26:31 PB  Jason S, 5:10:44 PB

Now you may have read my post about sustaining 19mph for 70 miles on Sunday (mostly on other people's wheels)..

Andy Harries did 231.4 miles for a 12hr race - that's 19mph average by himself !!     That's absolutely superb, chapeau!

(I wonder if it's the best ever, another Oggie all time best after Joe Beech in the '50') Steven M

That's slightly over 19mph I think. Great effort Andy, that must have hurt a lot...tell us about it? I recall Chris Mathews was always chasing 20mph for 12h but not sure he got it so yours could well be club record!  Rob J

Did check CTT website last week and Rob is right Chris Matthew did do 240 miles. I was thinking that I wouldn't get anywhere near that and targeted 200 miles, so well pleased with 230.

Not an awful lot to say Rob except that it was total suffering, mentally ( looked at the time just after 10 am and thought WOW only another 9 hours to go!) and physically, after 6 hours almost constant on the tri bars the pain in neck and shoulder become too much and most of the second half was ridden on the normal bars. Left knee started to hurt after about 5 hours but that was overtaken by the pain in the wrists. Did I mention the chaffing?

Did manage to keep the effort going for the 12 hours. Probably started too quickly, doing 21.6mph for the first 5 hours or so but realised that I had to back off, combined with not being able to stay on the tri bars, pace went down to around the 18mph mark. (this was including a brief stop each lap to pick up fluid, food and a pee stop!)

Accepted the pace dropping off but worked out that I could keep it over 19, so that was a mental boost. Final ave on the garmin was 19.3mph.

Not sure I'll be rushing to enter another 12, at least not this year!! Andy H

I averaged 22.6mph but was over 23mph on 65 miles at a point where I had done equal distance in each direction to Brecon and back. So pace fell off quite a bit for last section down to Carmarthen and back, with legs innsemi-cramp state and aero bars increasingly painfull to use. Not sure if the uncomfort is something that would go if you did it more or just cause injury. Everything is aching for me today though it sounds like, as one would expect, the 12 hour is another level again in pain and suffering. Not for me! Rob J

Well done to all you longer distance TT riders for last weekend, excellent performances, now we need more Oggies to get out and have a go. Ron B

I hate this course btw...no matter how hard I pedal, someone bigger and heavier passes me down the bank...and no matter how good my time, it always looks average at best compared to the rest of the field cos the standard is so high. Also you spend most of the ride watching your average speed decrease, it's depressing! Rob J

Thanks to all who have enquired about Norman,s accident. He is ok now if a little sore, more angry than anything else as he felt he was on for a good time. Bruised and cut arm, cut on his head, a back full of grazes. Also a bruised hip and ego. Bike seems ok. Helmet written off! >:( Lynne J

West Wales Cyclists League - RS20 (Crosshands) - 27.07.14

Went and did this today. 5 miles downhill 10 miles gently rolling then 1 mile hill then down and hill to the finish.

Did it on my road bike as i wast sure if I had the bike handling skills needed this was a misjudgement as the downhills were mostly gradual and the rolling 10 miles into the wind drained me. Then got stuck behind a tractor on the i mile hill and had to do a kamikaze overtaking manoeuvre to get by.

Good fun, not many entrants perhaps we could have some more Ogmore members in it next year.

Even got a medal for 2nd vet in my age group, though some of the older ones were faster than me!

Highly recommended don't let the few small hills put you off.

And take your own mug, the Bynea club run arrived just before me so I was at the back of the queue for tea no mugs by the time I waited 15 mins. Eventually got a thimble of tea. Thought perhaps the riders might have been served first! Chris G

Well done Chris, My thoughts exactly, more Oggies for this excellent course. Ron B

Me, Norman and Andy today on the Usk-Monmouth-Usk course

Breezy to say the least though it did ease for me towards the end of the ride. From the turn to the closed services on the summit was really tough going...speed below 20mph at times! Not a PB or even CB for me, but was quite pleased with 56:10 given conditions. Luke Dix was leading with a long 50 as I left. Kieron a DNS so reckon that might have done it.

Norman was a DNS. I waited quite a while for Andy S as thought he may PB but managed to miss him. How did you get on Andy? Rob J

Was always going to be a PB today cos it was  my first 25, so very happy with a  57:01, would have been happier with a 56:59 mind! Not so happy to bump into my lady boss covered in snot and wearing a skin suit, in for some stick at work I think. Andrew S

Wow well done Andy great result Steve C

Amazing time Andy, especially given it was your 1st 25. You are flying mate.

You'll smash the neath course, its much quicker Rob J

Great ride Andy-I can remember weighing up the aerodynamic inefficiency of blowing my nose against the comfort of doing so and trying to do so without using my hands with a similar result. Tom B

Great time Andrew. Well done. Richard Bowmer

Well done Rob and Andy.

Great effort in those conditions Mark N

WCA -  R100/8 TT - 10.08.14

As you can guess it was pretty wet for the 100 champs.  Most of it was ridden in torrential rain.  However, I remembered my 'O Level' Geography which was that the centre of a storm is often very calm and there was little or no wind.  My prime objective was not to waste energy keeping myself warm so I dressed for a winter club run. Over shoes, calf guards, neoprene gloves and 5 layers including my race cape!  This did the trick despite giving me the appearance of a Michelin man.  I did 4:33:12 which was slightly off my target of 4:30 but very pleased nevertheless.

Joe was having none of this and he rode in his skinsuit and did a 3:52:58, which I suspect may be a club record.  The event was won with a 3:42 which is the approx equivalent of riding 4 x 56 minute 25's back to back! Steven M

Well done Joe-3.52(what's the club record Steve-I think that beats J_p's of a few years back). How did everyone else fare?Brave just to ride at all today! Tom B

Well done to all.  The consensus on the CTT site is that it was very cold as well as wet.

I also applaud all the officials standing out in the 'orrible weather for the duration of the event Teresa D

Info off Norman is that Joe has set a new club record, so well done Joe and I second Teresa,s comments in congratulating all who rode and all who helped in such 'orrible weather. Lynne J

Did Mark Nott ride? Great time by the young Beech, and I am equally impressed he was able to work hard enough to stay warm for almost 4 hours in a skin suit. Well done Steven, think I'd have gone with your dress code. Rob J

Well done both, one ride to remember! Ron B

Fantastic results for both Joe and Steven.Well done gents.

I didn't ride as I felt the weather was too grim but listening to Steven's account I may have been premature with my decision or lack of experience.

Next year for me !!!

Well done again gents. Mark N

MID WEEK - 14TH AUGUST 2014

What a brilliant night guys. Blue sky, dry. What more could you ask for. We had a plethora of helpers, who we are very grateful to. Norman and Lynne James put out the start signs, Ron Boast the turn signs, Terry Anthony did the pushing off. (completely wore him out). And Steven Madeley turned up and did the timekeeping and recording.  And all for the pleasure of one very lucky guy. No other than the Mark Nott fan club. Lynne J

Terry Anthony - Pusher

Norman and Lynne - Start signs

Thanks. Surprised myself a bit. First PB for me at any distance since 2012. Strangely conditions were very similar to my previous PB on this course 2 years back of 8 seconds slower! Like then my ride Sunday was based not on good conditions or especially good form, but more on GRIM DETERMINATION. Rob J

MID WEEK - 28TH AUGUST 2014 - HANDICAP EVENT

W.J.Parkhouse Handicap 10 results.

It was a very blustery evening, no help in any direction.

Apologies from Will John who had to attend a lifeguards exam.

Hope that went well.

I hope that people can see how the handicap works now.

You only have to look at how close the times were to agree

that Norman did an excellent job of the handicapping.

Unfortunately getting caught out by newbie Lance who did

not have a racing time to give us. You were better than we

thought. Well done. Also apologies from Claire Hiett, unable

to ride due to injury. Lynne J

Gents/Ladies,my apologies as I was really embarrassed by

the amount of minutes I was given last evening which enabled

me to get the best overall handicap time.I was however

delighted with my first ever 10 tt time 28.04 on my 26 year

old steel Raleigh 653 (although Strava did give me 27.55)

The real truth of the matter was I was soundly thrashed by

5 minutes by some real cyclists on some serious tt bikes.

Well done to everyone that entered and organised the event

and many thanks for the friendly welcoming reception.

I do intend to build a tt bike over the winter(steel of course)

and have another go next season. Lance

Glad you enjoyed it Lance and pleased to hear that you found

us welcoming. There is one final event of the season on the

same course next Thursday, where club members are

encouraged to ride a "silly bike". Last year one of our riders

put together and then rode on a Brompton. Hope we see you

again. Also on the 21st September,at 10.00am, the absolute

final of the club events is a hill climb of 1.5 miles, taking place

in LLangeinor. The course is as follows:- Start at lay-by on

A4093 just east of the junction with A4064. Proceed eastwards

up the hill, around the double bend to finish at crossroads with

minor road to LLanginor Arms.  Lynne J

Great race last night despite the wind, As i am sure you all noticed a good friend of mine Mr Kevin Moore was photographing all the action. He has just started his new photography business and has posted all the images of last nights events on his website at www.kevinmoore.photography/events.html if you click on the event you will be asked for a password to view, the password is ovw you can order prints if you like. FINAL MID WEEK - 4TH SEPTEMBER 2014

“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE ON?”

What a beautiful evening for the last of the midweek events. All riders really getting

into the spirit of things for what are you on.

Unfortunately William came off, but was ok and finished the course. Well done.

Steven Madeley very kindly thanked all who turn out on a regular basis to run

these events and I would like to second that. Without these guys, who we depend

on,week after week, these events would not be run so smoothly.

See you all for the hillclimb.   Lynne J

Well done guys (and it was only guys who rode the event this year) for competing so enthusiastically in the 'What do you think you're on - Speed Competition'

The three category winners as picked out of a hat by Mrs Raine this morning are;

Steven Madeley - Superfast TT Bike

Lance Lewis - Single Speed Beach Bike with Wine Carrier and

Tony Mansell - Electric Bike. Setting a Course Record for this machine at 32.12

Each of these winners will now be entitled to receive a prize to be presented at the Roadmans Night Out (mid-October, date to be announced) to be held at the Red Fox Penllyn.

The prizes are to be donated by other Club Members and are to be 'much loved but no longer required cycling memorabilia'.

There is now a challenge set to all club members to come up with something suitable for these three winners. The more prizes the better. It does not have to be one prize per winner.

So members, get digging in your garages, bedroom cupboards and trophy cases ! to see what you have and either bring it along on the night (preferred - so you can give a little history to the item) or bring it to me in club on a Friday and let me have the story behind it

The Roadmans Night Out is the end-of- season informal bash. It will start at about 7.00pm with food at about 7.30 and a few beers later at the bar for those not wanting to eat (really you should not miss the Foxyburger !). No tickets are issued, simply come along and enjoy your club mates company. Retro cycling gear is recommended wear but otherwise it is casual. Old posters and flags are allowed to give the dining room some cycling atmosphere, so bring those too.

A couple of Ogmore riders in this very popular and well entered event.

Matt Bottrill broke the comp record by 3 seconds this morning 45 mins 43 secs. Good but not great conditions in my opinion..… Steven M

Conditions didn't ride as good as they looked for me either Steven, though suspect that was partly the return leg breeze and partly my declining power having overcooked it on the way out. I was convinced at start and through almost the entire ride today that I was going to PB...but its amazing how quickly the average speed can tumble when riding slightly uphill into a breeze on tired legs and closing lungs!

Suppose they must have been good conditions, but I've had better on that course a couple of times. Bottrill is dominating over 3 distance categories! Rob J

Very, very well done to young Bowen (Howell) Mason who did 58.03 yesterday. Put your feet up Bowen and have a quiet day. Ron B

Thanks for that Ron but it was 58:06 which was a best for me. First time under Bowen

CLUB HILL CLIMB - 21ST SEPTEMBER 2014

What a fantastic turnout for the hillclimb and glorious weather to boot.

Sheep had been shepherded in before the first rider. Phew

Many thanks to all who rode and helped. This is a record number of

competitors in this event since 1962 and the first time for us to use

this particular hill. Congratulations to Mark Rosser in winning the

N M James cup and Neil Poulton for "winning" Tim's red light.

Has mentioned awards will be presented at the clubs annual dinner in the

Bear Hotel, Cowbridge, on Friday 14th November 2014. Please contact

Steven Madeley for tickets. This is a cracking evening where you can be

insulted as well as win trophies. Lol.  Lynne J
